"My individual teaching oath is “I will always make sure students are safe and that students feel loved” Speaking to everything going on in our world today, I knew that this was something I wanted to be the driving force in my classroom.
I am going into Special Education teaching just like any other teaching field every day is a surprise every day is a journey. Some things are going to work on some days but some things are not going to work on another day. As much as I know that I have to teach content and meet standards I want my students to know that I am always in their court, always have their best interest in mind."
As much as I would love for all children to come from stable loving homes and environments that is not the case. If I can bring a little bit of joy to a child’s life then I feel like I have done my job. Another part of my philosophy is that students need to always be safe.
Establishing routines for our students will be highly beneficial in managing a classroom to top-tier liking, this cannot be accomplished however if the teacher does not understand the individual needs and personalities of our students, for a teacher to reach and create those personal relationships that create a more profound respect in the teacher-student relationship.
